Restoring the Chosen People
From coast to coast and from sea to sea, you will find many people who profess that they are a child of God. Others state that their Religion is the true religion. Did you know that God only has one people who he called his sons and daughters (Isa 43:6)? Did you know that he never established a religion, but a holy nation that would be obedient to his word forever(Deut 14:2; Deut 28:9;2 Sam 7:23-24)? These two statements may seem a little extreme, but these statements come directly from the Bible. What is more impressive is that this holy nation of people, which God established, is the same people that he is coming back for when he returns. (Isa 45:4; M’t 24:31) Don’t worry; he will give everyone the opportunity to become part of this holy family. Because this is indeed fact, there is a need to restore the holy family name, thus restoring the people. Just as many of you have a family that share the same surname or family name, God also had enough sense to name his family. (Isa.43:6; Isa 45:4)
Unlike all religious organizations, God did not call on man to establish his people for he was the founder of his people. (Isa 28:9) He began this journey when he called on Abraham to come from out from among his Kindred when he stated:
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Genesis 12:1-2
This Great Nation of People began with Abraham, and must exist when Christ returns. The People as well as the name that he has given them will remain in the New Heavens and the New Earth. (Isa 66:20,22) This biblical passage therefore contradicts everything that man has said regarding the establishment of religion. Religious Organizations such as the Mormon Church insist that they are the restoration church. Others like the Jehovah’s Witness proclaim that God did away with Yisra’el (Israel) because of their disobedience and accepted them as his holy people. Why did man feel the need to establish a religion which created a new doctrine and a new name (i.e. Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, etc? Is God’s divine will not sufficient? This Holy Nation did not exist in the beginning, but was formed by God starting with Abraham(Gen 2:12; Isa 43:1)). Although God had yet to call his people by name, scriptures let us know that God created a name for his people and made an everlasting covenant with them.
GOD GIVES HIS PEOPLE A NAME
There is a great story regarding the naming of God’s people. In the book of Genesis, the Patriarch Jacob was wrestling with the Angel of God and he made the following statement”
“I will not let thee go, except thou bless me”.
Jacob wrestled all night with the Angel of God and refused to stop until he received a blessing. In Genesis 32:27, the Angel of God proceeded to ask Jacob what is thy name? When Jacob responded with his name, the Angel of God changed Jacob’s name to Yisra’el (Israel in English). This was the blessing:
And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Yisra’el (Israel): for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
Jacob asked for a blessing, and was given a name. The name Yisra’el (Israel) was and still is a divine name, that came directly from heaven for this is what divine mean. Not only was this a heavenly name, but it was the family name that came from the Father. (Isa 43:7;Isa 45:4) God formed his people (Isa 43:1); named them (Gen.32:28; 2 King 17:34); and confessed that these were indeed his sons and daughters. (Isa. 43:6). The meaning of the name is also significant: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
A prince is the ruler of a principality (i.e. Satan); a member of a royal family. This name also gives you power with both God and man and the promise to prevail over all of your circumstances. This is why there is a need for the restoration of God’s family name. The Apostleship: Seeking the true Prophet
